Main Event On ESPN
October 6, 2009
On Tuesday, October 5, 2009 Leggopoker coaches Andrew “luckychewy” Lichtenberger, Craig “craigthedeac” Boyd, and “Clayton” Newman will make an appearance on your TV screens if you’re dialed in to ESPN between 9:00 and 11:00 PM EST. All three made deep Main Event runs and were placed on ESPN featured tables numerous times.
When reached for comment on his deep Main Event run, Andrew was nostalgic: “The first thing I ever saw regarding poker was Moneymaker's main event win, so to get deep in that same tournament only a few years later is a fairly surreal feeling. Given all the hype the main event gets I couldn't really tell if it were as awesome as everyone makes it out to be because it's just another tournament in the grand scheme of things. After having played however, the structure, number of players, and overall strength of the field make it the best tournament in the world, though I'm definitely slightly biased.”
Much like Michael Jordan playing his best under the weather, Clayton fought through a severe case of the flu deep in his Main Event run. Clayton was, however, thrilled about his television experience and summed up the entire tournament as, “a ridiculous grind with random moments of huge excitement.”
And Craig was perhaps the most excited of all three: “Making a run in the Main Event was definitely the most exciting experience of my poker career thus far. All of the cameras, support from family and friends, and the general atmosphere in the Amazon room are not things I'll soon forget. Having other Leggo pros go far with me made the experience even more special and I hope to be able to have the opportunity again.”
We’ll get a chance to see them showcase the poker skills that they exhibit in LeggoPoker videos in the Main Event!
