At 25 years old, Mirza Muhovic has become an expert at 200 nl. He’s never had to hold a job other than poker, and has been good enough to pay for his school expenses with his winnings. Mirza holds a BA in geography, and dabbled a little in philosophy and history before leaving school. Now, he’s focusing on improving his game.

Mirza’s friends first introduced him to poker, and he quickly got started playing the freerolls on Full Tilt to get accustomed to the game in general. He was able to build up his bankroll quite high on a few separate occasions, but poor bankroll management meant that he had to rebuild a few times. After that, he started watching videos and reading strategy posts in the forums of different training sites in order to move up consistently in stakes.

The videos and training have paid off. Regular sweat sessions and video reviews helped make Mirza into an adaptable player who can recognize the best ways to play a given hand based on the opponent. Exchanging hand histories and strategy with other players, though, has had the biggest impact on his game. Mirza credits some of the people he’s met through poker with helping to bring his game to the next level.

Now the biggest challenges Mirza faces are making time to play consistently and dealing with other peoples’ perceptions of poker as a way to make a living. “I come from a more conservative family,” Mirza says. “So the fact that I’m playing poker for a living wasn’t easy to bring to the table. And people don’t react very positively to it here in Luxembourg in general.”

Despite that, he enjoys the game far too much to let someone else make him quit. Mirza isn't certain what he’ll be doing in three years, but he definitely knows what he’s hoping for: still playing – and improving – his game.

Coaching

Hello fellow poker players,

My name is Mirza , or if you prefer, zaza. I have been playing poker for 3 years, a bulk of which has been 200nl and 100NL.

My coaching program is not geared towards just teaching you to beat the games in their current state. Rather, I intend to teach you how to think about poker, to be a much more adaptive and creative player. Opponent classifications such as TAG, LAG, etc do have some value, however, breaking the mold of "I am a TAG" or "he is a LAG" is essential to improvement. The stats on the HUD are merely an average of decisions based on their own unique context. This is the meat of my coaching program, becoming aware of the contextual clues and developing an appropriate strategy/adjustment.

The coaching method is fairly flexible given my experience with HH reviews, sweats, video reviews, and presentations. My coaching style is mostly question based, allowing the student to form the thought proccesses themselves.

It still amazes me how "in the dark" I was before receiving coaching from Zaza

Through sweats, session reviews, and hand history discussions, my thought processes opened up dramatically. Everything I had read or seen in poker training videos started to make more sense and I was able to better internalize the thought processes of others.

Zaza's attention to detail on a villains tenancies and recent history is very impressive. I am able to understand my opponents game plan and dissect their ranges much more efficiently than before. Zaza helped me understand the importance of my perceived range looks like after each decision

Learning how each check, call, or raise effects my opponent's and my own range, always having a plan for future streets, correcting bet sizing mistakes, and maximizing value in spots that I never knew about before. Or when to amp up the aggression and fire three barrels has became so much clearer. The list goes on and on.

I highly recommend getting Zaza as your coach if you are serious about improving the way you approach the game. I have no doubt that with Zaza's guidance, you will improve your win rate. The depth of his knowledge and ability to communicate are both very impressive.
