Sorry all-
The lack of updates is primarily due to the lack of involvement in poker I've been experiencing. I played 11k hands in August and have logged a whopping 1066 so far in September. This is largely because I had to pack/move back into school, and then had to start going to class and doing homework I'm actually finding school a lot more interesting now, and have put poker on the back-burners rather than the forefront, like I did in my freshman year. I'm able to get my schoolwork done, get out a lot, and play poker when I feel like it (which frankly, is not very much ATM).
I am on a pretty solid run in the last 1.5 months.
I've been winning at about $4.50/hand due to dominating 3/6-10/20 and getting some reasonably good action at 25/50 and 50/100. I had a ~20BI downswing, almost entirely at 10/20HU, and almost all of that vs __FullFlush1__. He is a lot better than certain stats (aka huge leaks) would indicate. I dunno I think I just got tilted by initial runbad and did exactly what I shouldn't have been doing (don't want to say the specific leak...). I tried to drive the action to up the variance and run him over, and he just picked me apart. I'm really happy with how poker has been going though!!
I am still available for another student or two, so hit me up on here!

I am generally anti-coaching for obvious reasons. However, due to me having lots of down time, wasting time on the internet, or bullshitting with friends on skype, I will coach because that seems more productive to me.
I am looking to take a few more students. I can coach for HU or 6m and would be extremely helpful in both games. Sorry, no full ring. If you are generally game selective and want to start beating regs HU, or just gain an edge in starting mid stakes 6m games with other regs, I can be extremely helpful to you. If you mainly play 6max, I can also help a lot. I have an unorthodox style that will undoubtedly help anyone looking to improve their game. I'm sorry that I don't have much of a database right now due to having a new computer. But here is what I have. I have also posted some graphs in this blog, so feel free to go back a few entries and look at those from my previous computer (which is now dead, FML).

My current rate is 475/hr. You can get it for 400/hr if you book 10+ lessons AND pay in advance. This will likely go up, given that my availability will drastically decrease once I go back to school (28th). If you don't think I'm worth this, you are welcome to not purchase coaching from me. I can assure you, however, that if you are looking to get into playing 2/4-10/20 HU vs regs, and generally game select, or think you are giving up an edge in game starting, this is an absolute steal in how much your game will improve. All requests by PM please. Include relevant information as to what you want, stakes, and your screen name(s).
Thanks,
Evan

Hello Leggo,
I'm grinding a lot of NL and game selecting a bit. However, when the games aren't really running, I've been working on learning PLO. I set a goal for myself to only play HU PLO starting at .25/.50 and make 25BI at each level so I can eventually play the same stakes of PLO that I play in NL. I really don't like 6m PLO; I think the ability to 3bet in position makes the game kind of stupid and ultra high variance (I think more than HU, but I could be wrong).
So far, I am up 20.5BI at .25/.50PLO in 4330 hands. So I am obviously pretty happy with my efforts so far at that game. I am also earning .4VPP/hand at that level, which is pretty cool I guess. It will only go up and even at MSNL, I get maybe .65-.70, so I imagine I will get more in HUPLO than 6m MSNL. The ability to play a 2nd game well is obviously hugely important, since a lot of the time I am playing, I don't have as much action as I would like to have, and am therefore not maximizing my hourly. Up until this point, I have been a one trick pony at NLHE; I don't even know how to play LHE, like a lot of the players that now play MSNL/HSNL and have been around for 5+ years.
There's my PLO graph. Obviously I'm running good but it's 15.55evPTBB, so I am more than happy with that. If I can sustain a winrate above 10ptbb as I get to the mid stakes, I would be really happy. This seems absurdly high, but I am not playing regulars at PLO until I feel I am really good at it, which might be never. But I do know that I can beat the fish that 3bet 30+% and just dump their money. So for now, that is who I am playing.
If anyone else is at a similar stage in learning PLO or thinks we can help each other with the game, please PM me or post in the comments section and we can exchange contact information.
Thanks,
Evan

So last month I made 21.2k, reasonably good. I peaked at +60k but it's whatever. Never fun to downswing, but all in all, made about 50c/hand and I'll take that considering I think I played very poorly in the latter half of the month.
So for April, I think I will just set some really easy goals.
-at least 30k hands
-all 2/4 to 10/20 (NOOO 25/50)
-play my A game more often?
I think this should be pretty easy. Hopefully reaching these 3 goals will materialize into a really strong month.
I'm off to a pretty good start. I really heatered at the end of my session, picking up hands in good spots, getting reasonable boards, and stacking people.
These kinds of hands help. It's pretty hilarious how much equity he has preflop but meh.

Just gonna start making a few posts to try to keep goals in order: Not going to say much this entry because I have a lot of schoolwork but:
Here is my graph from Sept 10 (the date I started working with Jungleman12) till December 12 (3 month period)
things haven't gone amazingly well since, mainly due to some runbad but: this isn't all of my hands since then bc my HEM sucks!
I had a brutal session where I was 8tabling 10/20 6m with Dogg11, ADZ, nutsinho, gp333, and bfl4me (I'm fairly friendly w both Matt/Rich and talk to them on AIM so there was some weird dynamic, them sucking out on me and me saying F U!) where I ran 10BI below ev and lost 10k instead of winning 10k, and also ran 17k below EV at 25/50 HU vs someone I'm confident I had a huge edge on. In all I'm more than 60k below EV (and ~60 buy ins) in this stretch but it's whatever, you learn from it if anything, and I'll cash in on some rungood again eventually
So, for goals:
-no dick waving (it's just stupid/immature and 100% cuts into my bottom line [tho sometimes regs make some very advanced plays vs me])
-game select (and by that I mean, don't just play all open tables, find some fish and play with them)
-make money/get my online roll back into the 6 figures (taxes+losses=ouch!, + I constantly withdraw cuz I hate money)
-don't play high variance HU matches with top players again for at least a few months (this is something I definitely want to do again in the near future bc they're fun and good learning experiences and I've made money or EV at least vs some great players, but I need to stay away from this for now)
